About Better Surf than Sorry / Surfer Baby

Better Surf than Sorry and  Surfer Baby were founded by Alan Chalom, who discovered his love for surfing and the ocean in 1974 while living in Israel. Inspired by his daughter Kalia, the Surfer Baby line embodies the youthful spirit and joy of the ocean.

We believe that surfing and paddle boarding are more than just sports—they're lifestyles. Through our products and community initiatives, we aim to foster a love for the ocean, promote sustainability, inclusivity, and positivity within the surfing and paddle boarding culture for the whole family.

Meet the Owner: Alan Chalom

Alan Chalom is not only the founder of Better Surf than Sorry / Surfer Baby but also a world-ranked SUP racer with a lifelong passion for surfing, outrigger, surfki and paddle boarding. His love for the ocean was ignited in 1974 while living in Israel, where he first experienced the exhilaration of riding waves. Alan is also one of the Sup Race training coaches for the first paddle board training club in San Diego. (West Coast Sup training Club)

Inspired by his daughter Kalia, Alan launched the Surfer Baby line, infusing it with the same passion and spirit that he brings to the water. Today, Alan remains deeply involved in all aspects of the company, from product development to community outreach, ensuring that Better Surf than Sorry / Surfer Baby continues to inspire surfers and paddle boarders around the world to embrace the ocean lifestyle with enthusiasm and joy.
